Communications - Journalism - Social Media

A student at Western Sydney University, in the final years of studying a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Journalism.

I have gained extensive journalistic practices with editing, interviewing, producing, reporting and writing. I have published with The Koori Mail, a national Australian Indigenous newspaper based in Lismore, NSW, social media platform the Mock Sports, ABC News and the Sydney Roosters.

Notably, I have sat down with an arrange of athletes consisting of Australian women’s cricketer Ashleigh Gardner, Sydney Roosters player Angus Crichton, wheelchair fencer Stef Rodriguez and rising women’s players in the NRLW scene.

The ABC gave me a valuable insight into how a newsroom, producers, cameramen and journalists deliver daily news. My time at ABC saw me produce, film, news read, write and shadow in the newsroom.

Communicating, writing, reporting, research, editing, and interviewing are skills I have gained over the years, and I will continue to build on them into the future.

Interview with wheelchair parafencer Stef Rodriguez

For International Day of People with disability, I sat down with Stef Rodriguez to talk about her sport, wheelchair parafencing.

We talked about the different disciplines in wheelchair fencing and how the sport works. I asked her about the types of equipment and how the rules work.

Rodriguez is attempting to win a wildcard entry to the 2024 Paris Paralympics for parafencing.
